The Lac la Hache Community Club held their annual general meeting on Feb. 21, attendance was okay but we still would like to see more involvement from the community.

Meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. New members are always welcome to stop by and visit and the yearly dues are very reasonable at $5.00.

Some items of interest that were discussed are as follows:

The closing date for the season at the Rolf Zeis Memorial Arena has been set to March 16, if you haven't had a chance to stop by for the public skating you should do so soon, there's only a short time left.

Maintenance work will continue at the arena for a while though as there are a few things we would like to change.

There will be a volunteer appreciation dinner at the hall on April 8. We are thankful that we have so many people working behind the scenes and it is our way of saying thank you.

Each one of us in charge of the different events will be compiling a list and contacting you with an invite directly, this will include your spouse and children also. We sincerely hope that most people will attend but we will need a definite number so the appropriate amount of food is ordered.

Judy has been getting the Thrift Store organized for the upcoming season and it will be reopening in April (all depending on the weather of course)

The Community Club is also pleased to welcome a new director to join our team – Brittany Wasstrom. The results of the election are as follows: President – Larry McCrea, Vice President – Wendy Williams, Treasurer – Jeanette McCrea and lastly Secretary – Barb Hansen.

The Spaghetti Fundraiser held Feb. 24 for the arena was a huge success.

60 people of all ages attended and the amount raised was very close to $3000.

A huge thank you to Bev Fry and her crew for an awesome job done.

There will be another Family Movie Night on Saturday, March 11 at the Community Hall.

Doors will open at 4:30 p.m. and movie starts at 5 p.m., and yes the concession will be open.

The movie is entitled Finding Dory, admission is by donation, all proceeds will go to Help the Arena fund.
