Residential address signs still available

North Green Watch Lake news

This is the final reminder about the joint program between Watch Lake-North Green Lake VFD (WLNGLVFD) and the 100 Mile House Lions Club for selling residential address signs in our area. The signs are eight inches high by 16 inches wide and are made of engineer-grade aluminum with five-inch black numbers on a white, highly reflective background. These signs, when placed at the entrance of your driveway, can be easily seen in the day, at night and in bad weather and are approved by the Fire Department. The signs cost $15 for single-sided and $25 for double-sided. If you wish to order or have any questions, please contact Gisele Poliseno at 250-395-9082. The deadline has already been extended by a couple of months and the last day to order will be August 31. It will be several years before this opportunity comes around again.

Firefighter’s Appreciation Dinner

The WLNGLVFD Auxiliary is planning an appreciation dinner for our firefighters on Saturday, October 22. It will be held at the Watch Lake Community Hall. It is a special way to thank the firefighters for all that they do during the year. I will have more details about this dinner in my future columns.

Feral Horses

If anyone knows the whereabouts of the feral mare and her colt, could you please contact me by phone or e-mail. I would like to arrange a round-up of these two horses before winter sets in, if at all possible. They are normally found about one or two km northwest of the Graham Dunden Ranch Road, heading towards 70 Mile. They are both chestnut in colour. The mare has a white blaze which spreads from the top of her forehead to the tip of her nose. The colt also has a similar blaze and has two white socks on his hind legs. I have not seen them for at least five weeks now and I am concerned about their safety. Of note, the individual who dropped off a black feeding container for the horses, I have it. Please call and I will gladly drop it off at your convenience. Thank you.
