100 Mile House residents can be quite proud of themselves and their community.

So says Capt, Kevin Seal, commanding officer of the Rocky Mountain Rangers - South Cariboo (RMRSC), after receiving a personal note from the Colonel Commandant.

"Basically, it was a form letter of congratulations to us, the sponsors and the leadership of the cadet corps for the 40th anniversary of the corps' formation," says Seal.

"But it was the personal note at the end of the letter that was a great compliment to the community."

The personal note from Robert Meating, OMM, CD, MSM, Major-General (retired) states: "Maintaining a cadet corps in 100 Mile House for 40 years is a remarkable achievement in which all parents, volunteers, leaders and the community can take great pride. Thank you all for your selfless commitment."

Seal, who has been involved with RMRSC for the past 10 years, says youths aged 12-18 are welcome to attend meetings, which are held every Thursday from 6:30 to 9 p.m.

For more information, call Seal at 250-706-2446 or leave a message at the RMRSC office at 250-395-1181.
