Psalm 23 Society Awards Dinner & Auction is on Nov. 5

Awards will celebrate great commitment, work and dedication by alumnist

The Psalm 23 Transition Society is hosting its annual Courageous Starfish Awards Dinner & Auction Fundraiser in the Valley Room (behind the Red Coach Inn) in 100 Mile House on Nov. 5.

The celebratory evening is designed to recognize alumni of the Psalm 23 recovery program.

This year’s alumni winner is Anthony Schroeder, says Marvin Declare, foundation founder and director of Psalm 23.

The purpose of the award is to recognize an alumni member who has courageously faced his demons, who has come out to serve the community, helped other people and changed his life around.”

Declare says it’s especially about seeing the restoration of families.

It is about watching Anthony Schroeder’s reconciliation with his wife and child, and to see them so happy.”

After dinner Anthony Schroeder will talk about his journey to sobriety.

Starfish awards will be given to the volunteers in the program. Local businesses and members of the community who have helped with the program will also be recognized.

There will be further testimonies, stories and speeches. We will review the year and discuss what is happening next year in the ministry.

Doors open at 5:15 p.m. and dinner will be served by the Fifty9mile Business Centre catering team at 6:15. For tickets and information, contact Marvin Declare at 250-459-2220 or 604-870-5616.
