“Everybody was having a blast and complimented us and everything. They had a hoot,” says Class Mates bandmember Gail Potter about their performance at Mill Site Lodge and Fischer Place on March 15. According to a nurse, residents were just raving about it, says Potter.

The whole performance had a St. Patrick’s Day theme. The Class Mates perform at Mill Site Lodge and Fischer Place about three or four times a year, according to Potter. Usually, for many of the big celebrations, such as Christmas, Halloween, St. Patrick’s Day and Valentine’s Day, she says.

“We always dress up to the occasion.”

They did a whole hour of Irish tunes.

“We even did the Irish washerwoman which is an Irish jig and they were up dancing and everything. It was amazing. Four, five, six people up dancing.”

The band members seemed to have really gotten in the St. Patrick’s Day mood.

“Sandy makes a good leprechaun when he has that hat on,” she says with a laugh.

“He looks just like a leprechaun. All the girls wanted to kiss him. All the older ladies wanted to kiss him because he looked like a good leprechaun.”

“It went wonderful. Everyone was so happy.”
