Annually, the 100 Mile House Free Press advertises a Moonlight Madness subscription special.

From Wednesday to Friday last week, crowds of people came through the office doors laden with donations to the 100 Mile House Food Bank Society and Loaves and Fishes Outreach.

"This is the best year since I've been here," says receptionist Donna Land says, adding the front counter was never so busy.

"It was very successful, and people who forgot to bring a food donation, donated cash."

Land adds the food donations ranged from good healthy choices to some yuletide treats and that there were also donations of pet foods.

The food donations and $62 were split equally between the charities and will go towards helping those who are less fortunate.

"A big thank-you goes to all of our subscribers who helped with this event," says Free Press publisher Chris Nickless.

"The people of 100 Mile House and area are always so generous."
