One of the special moments at Deka Lake & District Volunteer Fire Department’s annual Ice-Fishing Derby is their Ladies Auxiliary’s draw for the Memorial Quilt. This quilt, which is created in addition to the large raffle quilt, commemorates all the Ladies Auxiliary quilters who have gone before. The draw is between only members of the auxiliary and volunteer fire department.
This writer made the draw and the lucky winner of the quilt, displayed by Maryann Wix and Kerrie Le-Grand, was firefighter Dori Dennison.
International Dinner
Interlakes Community Centre (ICC) has announced the menus for their March 10 International Dinner.
German: smoked pork tenderloin, bratwurst, potatoes and sauerkraut by Summit Creek Sausage;
Italian: meat lasagna and ricotta stuffed cannelloni with Italian salad; by Luca of Lac des Roches Resort;
Greek: souvlaki from pork tenderloin, lemon potatoes, spanakopita, tzatziki and Greek salad, by ICC.
All meals, at $25, include beverage and dessert. Doors open at 5 p.m.; dinner at 6 p.m. Proceeds will raise funds for the Interlakes Rodeo Concession Shack.

Foot massage
Foot massage is back at ICC, once a month on the first Wednesday, between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Thanks to generous donations, the cost is reduced to $12 for members and $15 for non-members for a footbath with Epsom salts and a half-hour massage. Book your appointment for March 7 at 250 593 4869.
