At the Save-On-Foods Rancher Appreciation Day on April 30

Since the last article, the Lone Butte 4-H Club has been doing many different activities.

On April 16, there was the South End demonstrations and speak-and-shows at the 100 Mile House Elementary School.

We had two members attend. Kelsey Ervin won third-place overall for the senior members. Mikayla Mosher tied for first place in the Junior Speak and Show competition.

On April 30, we sold beef on a bun at Ranchers Appreciation Day at Save-On-Foods. It was a busy, but fun, day selling lunches to the public. We would like to thank Save-On-Foods for donating all the food and drinks for us to sell.

The next day, we had our annual South End judging rally at the 105 Stables on Tatton Station Road. About 150 members came from as far south as Clinton and as far North as Williams Lake.

We judged horse, beef, poultry, small engines, sheep, gardening, foods, photography, bicycle, swine, dog and rabbit. The cloverbuds got to learn how to judge hay.

It was a nice and sunny day and everyone had a good time.

All of our member’s projects are going well. A ewe lamb in our club had triplets a few weeks ago and they are doing great.

Everyone has their market projects now and the real work will begin.

Our club has the Little Britches Parade on May long weekend and we will also be at the Lone Butte Days in June.
