Help sought to make Christmas brighter for Clinton residents

The community of Clinton and Integris Credit Union staff are working together to brighten spirits at Christmas time

The community of Clinton and Integris Credit Union staff are working together to brighten spirits at Christmas time.

For the fourth year, they are organizing the Stocking Stuffer event. The Integris branch purchases unfilled stockings and community members pick up the stockings and fill them and return them to the Credit Union.

On Christmas Eve, they will be delivered to those who need them.

The stockings are filled with items that will help make Christmas a little brighter.

A list is compiled (with the help of the community) for those that may be less fortunate or alone at Christmas, or could just use a little pick-me-up at Christmas. Some of the recipients are children, some are middle aged and some are seniors.

The event has gone over really well. Those receiving the stockings are so grateful for the surprise, and those who fill the stocking genuinely enjoy the fulfillment of being able to give to someone who will really appreciate the gifts.

If you would like to participate in the event this year, stop by the Integris to pick up one or more unfilled stockings.

For children, the stockings can be filled with items, such as mittens, socks, hats, toys, chocolate or candy.

For adults, some ideas of items to fill the stockings included books, gloves, hats, chocolates, toiletries, magazines, or anything else you think would brighten someone’s day.
