Get cracking: Lobsterfest tickets on sale

Lobsterfest plans underway and nearly half the tickets are sold alread

The Second Annual Rotary Club Lobsterfest is slated for Sept. 15 at the 100 Mile Community Hall, starting at 6 p.m.

The Rotary Club of 100 Mile House is excited about hosting the second annual Lobsterfest dinner and auction, Rotary president Maureen Pinkney says. She adds fresh maritime lobster and all the fixings is the dinner feature, and there will be silent and live auctions, as well as door prizes.

“Once again the community has come forward with many great items for our fundraiser. We still need more donations, so let me know [250-395-0462] and I will stop in and pick them up.

“We are a charitable organization, so we can give tax receipts.”

To date, prizes include an ATV, snowmobile, Disney vacation package, Rocky Mountain Rail Tour package, Tickets to Vancouver Whitecaps, tickets to BC Lions game, signed BC Lions football, patio table set, Vancouver Canucks logo poker table, and much more.

This is the club’s main fundraiser for local projects and scholarships. Part of the proceeds from this year’s Lobsterfest will be going to the 100 Mile House Mural Society, the 100 Mile House & District Women’s Centre Society and the 100 Mile House & District Historical Society.

Tickets are $75 each, but they include a $40 charitable tax receipt, and seating is limited to 200.

Tickets are available from any Rotarian, RE/MAX Country Lakes Realty, the 100 Mile House Free Press, and from Pinkney by calling 250-395-0462.

“Tickets are limited to 200 and are going very quickly,” Pinkney says, adding about 45 per cent of them have already been sold.

“Get yours soon; you don't want to miss this great event. I hope to see you there."
