Organizers Dale and Ron Tonts and Ron and Barb Thurston are happy to announce the Green Lake Snowmobile Club’s Pig Roast and Dance Wind-up was a two-time sellout – once on their set limit and then again when they squeaked in a dozen or so more latecomers who missed the announcement.
The food was outstanding and plentiful.
About 100 people danced throughout the evening, winning silent auctions, door prizes, pick-a-prize draws and spot dances until the late hours. Everyone enjoyed the Class Mates band with Gail and Brad Potter who added a new bass player Sandy Amy, also from their high school days.
The event was a huge financial success as it raised $2,390 for the club.
This money will help the snowmobile club pay for repairs on its grooming equipment and the costs trying to maintain the trails, says club president Peter McKie.
The monies raised will also help with the maintenance of the clubhouse, which is starting to show wear and tear, he says, adding they are trying to use the clubhouse for more community events and need to keep it maintained to Interior Health standards.
"We would like to thank all the members, guests and businesses who participated in the raffles, which made this event a huge success for the club. People had so much fun, we are looking forward to doing this again next year,” the organizers say.
The snowmobile clubhouse seems to be the “in” place to be to have a great time.
