The 70 Mile House Volunteer Firefighters Association held their annual General meeting on March 12. The financial statements of 2016 were presented and the election of officers was held. Those elected were: President Dennis Huber, Vice-President Miriam Livingston, Secretary Alisha Brandle, Treasurer Gail Moseley, and directors Leroy Hart, Derrick Edwards, Richard Moseley, and Kam Robb.
Poker
The poker tournament set for March 11 was cancelled. The next will be held April 8 at Elaine's Poker Palace, 2489 N. Bonaparte Road at 12 noon. For more info call Elaine at 250-456-8491.
Bingo
The next bingo will be held March 28 at SMAC, 2545 N. Bonaparte Road. Play starts at 7 p.m.
More volunteers are needed if players want bingo next season. Elaine and Cathy are retiring and replacements are needed before the licence application is filed in August.
VFD news
Dylan Jesse is getting ready for another yard sale to be held on the July long weekend. He is looking for donations of good items for the sale. Contact Elaine at 250-456-8491 if you have items to give.
The next fire practice will be held April 4 at 7 p.m. at the fire hall. New members are welcome.
