With the beautiful weather finally arriving in the South Cariboo, people were out in mass enjoying the long weekend at lakes and campsites.

Wedding bells
Congratulations go out to Lone Butte residents Christine Reed and Tom Gallagher for their marriage on Aug. 4.
The ceremony was held on the waterfront of Horse Lake, followed by a beautiful reception at Lone Butte Community Hall made for a memorable celebration.
Flea market
Come out and enjoy the next flea market and craft bazaar on Aug. 20 at the Lone Butte Community Hall.
Doors open at 9 a.m., but folks should arrive early to get the best selection.
There will also be one on Sept. 24 and if you would like to show your wares, call Pat MacKay 395-2114 to book at table.
Hall news
Some work has been completed on the hall for better ventilation underneath in the crawlspace, and the association is looking at getting some other needed work done.

Belated 38th anniversary wishes go out to Ed and Erica Wiens.
Dinner and dance
If you like to plan ahead, then mark your calendars for the Lone Butte Fish and Wildlife Association's dance scheduled for Feb. 25, 2012.
Members get first dibs on the limited supply of 200 tickets until Aug. 31, and after that date will be offered to the general public. Tickets are available at Exeter Sporting Goods at $40 for the full-day event with game showing through the day, followed by a full-course dinner with wine being served at the table.
There will be wild game samples and plenty of prizes followed by the dance with Rob Fry providing music. Children under 19 are welcome until 9 p.m.
