eXp Realty 100 Mile House is inviting the community on an Easter Egg Hunt on Good Friday this year.

As a way to celebrate moving into the old Royal LePage office and give back to the community eXp is hiding 13 eggs around 100 Mile House on March 29. eXp realtors Jason Ferguson and Clee Grahn, who are taking the lead in organizing the event, encourage the entire community to come out and participate.

“It’s going to be our first annual Easter Egg Hunt. We’re pretty excited,” Grahn said. “We’re going to hide 12 eggs and one golden egg around the community of 100 Mile House. It’s going to be a great family event for people to get out in the community and find some treasure.”

Ferguson and Grahan explained that the eggs will be hidden outside and not in businesses. Potential locations include Centennial Park, the 100 Mile House Marsh and Birch Avenue. The hunt starts at 9 a.m. and will run until 5 p.m.

Each egg will contain a ticket, Ferguson said, which an individual or family can submit to eXp Realty in exchange for a prize. Prizes include gift cards for various local businesses ranging from $25 to $100.

To keep things fair only one prize can be claimed per person or family. Prizes will be given out on a first come first pick system, so Grahn encourages people to bring their eggs in right away.

“Bring your kids out because when you return your tickets you’ll be able to grab a sweet treat for them as well,” Ferguson added. “We’ll give out prizes for one to 12 and after that, we’ll have the golden ticket. You bring that one in it is our grand prize and we were fortunate enough to get a donor to give us a sweet prize.”

When asked what the grand prize is, Ferguson played coy, telling the Free Press only that it will be revealed on the day of the hunt itself. While those who take part in the hunt can wait until Easter Monday to claim their prize, he encourages them to do it on Good Friday. He noted that when all the prizes have been claimed, eXp Realty will let the public know via their Facebook page.

“We’ll also have hints on our Facebook site of where the locations are that we hid the eggs,” he said. “It will just be in town to make it easy for the community.”

Ferguson thanked the sponsors of the event including JD’s Styling Salon, Our Kitchen Corner and Andre’s Electronics. Eggs can be dropped off at eXp Realty’s new office located at 96 Cariboo Highway 97.
