Coats for All has winter wear available for families on limited incomes that need the warmth of winter coats, toques, mitts, snowsuits, scarves and boots.

"It's been wonderful," says Coats for All co-ordinator Wendy Hamblin.

"The coats that have been donated already are washed and are available, but people can still bring in their donations to 100 Mile Laundromat."

The laundromat, which is located in Owens Square at 4-460 Birch Ave. across from the library, is donating all of the washing, she says, adding it would be helpful if people would label the items as “washed” or “needs washing.”

All donations of winter garb are appreciated, says Hamblin. If people are going to donate sweaters, she notes they would like the thick winter sweaters.

The winter wear can picked up until Nov. 30 at the Ministry of Children and Families, Health Unit (behind the 100 Mile District General Hospital), 100 Mile Food Bank, Loaves and Fishes Outreach, Cariboo Family Enrichment Centre, Canadian Mental Health Association-South Cariboo Branch, Canim Lake Band; Canoe Creek Band, the Youth Zone;, 100 Mile House & District Women's Centre, and the Watch Lake Community Centre.

On Sundays, people are welcome to St. Timothy's Anglican Church, 1068 Blackstock Rd., just off Horse Lake Road between 11:45 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., to pick up needed apparel.

"If schools or community associations would like to have some of the outerwear for their local people, they can give me a call."
