'Funny Business' with the CRD's summer reading clubs

The Cariboo Regional District Libraries in 100 Mile House, Quesnel, and Williams Lake invite children of all ages to join this year's BC Summer Reading Club: Funny Business.

The program starts in July. Registration is free and it is now open.

Once registered, members will receive a special kit to keep track of their reading during the summer months. If they achieve their summer reading goal, they will be awarded a collectible medal.

The program makes reading fun, by inviting children to read what they want. The Cariboo Regional District Library staff can help children find suitable materials, whether it's a print book, audio book, e-book, magazine or any combination of items.

The Summer Reading Club at 100 Mile House Branch Library is a free program for children aged three to 12 that promotes literacy and reading throughout the summer.

Children come to the library once a week to read stories, play games, make crafts, and have the chance to win prizes.

The program ends with a party in Centennial Park. The 100 Mile House Summer Reading Club co-ordinator’s name is Cassie Campbell. She is entering her fourth year in the teacher education program at the University of Victoria.

Registration dates: Until July 5, and the program begins on July 8.

For times and dates, contact Cassie at ohsrcoordinator@cariboord.bc.ca or by phone at 250-395-2332.
