Elementary school student enjoying field trips

Lac la Hache Elementary School student Brooke Moorcroft found her perfect pumpkin during a school field trip to the Desert Hill Farm near Ashcroft on Oct. 25.

The Lac la Hache Elementary School students are enjoying the outdoor activities at the school and on field trips.

On Oct. 25, they travelled to the Desert Hills Farm near Ashcroft, where all enjoyed the hayride to the Pumpkin Patch.

Each student picked out a perfect pumpkin to take home to carve and Desert Hills gave each student a bag of fresh produce to take home and share.

Remembrance Day

The school is planning a Remembrance Day assembly in the gym tomorrow (Nov. 4) at 10:30 a.m.

All members of the community are welcome to attend.

Fall break

There will be a week-long fall break from Nov. 7 to 11 and the school will not be in session.

Firefighting changes

Greeny Lake Volunteer Fire Department held its annual general meeting on Oct. 19.

Looks like a bit of shake up will some new people are on board.

The new board includes new fire chief Dave Gisby, new deputy chief Wayne Giroday, new president Douglas Witty, and new vice-president Gregory Miles.

The fire department members are happy to announce they have a new volunteer – Ann Husdon.

Special dinner

The Bavarian dinner at the OAPO Pioneer Centre was a huge success with 60 dinners being served.

The Christmas Craft Fair and Bazaar will be held at Lac la Hache Community Hall, Nov 5-6.
