Seven teams came together at the Forest Grove Curling Rink on Feb. 25, at 8:45 a.m., to start off the third annual Funspiel, organised by the Forest Grove '94 Lions.
The Two Sisters were once again catering this event, offering delicious breakfast sandwiches, hot dogs, deluxe burgers and fries as well as pop and coffee. Mid-afternoon, the winning team was declared to be Vic and Sue Meyer, and Rick and Jaden Knight, before the tables were set up for their customary dinner to round up a day filled with fun and laughter.
The Annual General Meeting of the Forest Grove Rod and Gun Club will take place at the Community Hall (4489 Eagle Creek Road) on March 12, at 1 p.m. (Daylight Saving Time). Everybody is welcome to attend and find out about upcoming events throughout the summer of 2017.
The Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 261, Forest Grove, invites locals and visitors alike to attend their annual St. Paddy's Dance on March 18.
After the weekly meat draw (4:30 to 6:30 p.m.), the Classmates will entertain from 7 p.m. till late. Children are welcome till 10 p.m.
The kitchen will be open as usual between 4 and 7 p.m. and offer a special menu consisting of corned beef, perogies and cabbage/sauerkraut.
By leaving your name and number with a $1 donation in the container provided between now and the dance, you could win the contents of a mystery box. The winner will be drawn during the festivities.
The dates of two darts tournaments at the Forest Grove Legion have been announced.
The Legion Annual Darts Tournament, three on three blind-draw, will take place on April 22, and the Blind Draw Goofie Newfie Shoot is scheduled for May 27.
Registration for both will be between 9 and 10 a.m. on the relevant Saturday, with toe line at 11 a.m. RV parking and camping are available.
