CFEC annual general meeting well attended

Looking back on achievements in 2013/14, looking forward to 2014/15 goals

At the recent Cariboo Family Enrichment Centre annual general meeting, a Deloitte and Touche representative reviewed the audited financial statements, commenting positively on the work of the CFEC.

In the annual report Lisa De Paoli, CFEC executive director, shared some of the achievements of the board, management and staff over the past year:

• Developing Youth Outreach and Youth Counselling Services.

• Opening the preschool program at the CFEC Early Care and Learning Centre.

• Celebrating CFEC’s anniversary of 25 years of service as of Aug. 8, 2013.

• Co-hosting the Cariboo Chilcotin Early Years Conference.

• Providing the Non-Profit Board Workshop.

• Promoting food security.

Through community awareness and fund development, CFEC has more than doubled its membership to more than 100 individuals.

In the fall, the CFEC board developed a new strategic plan for 2014 to 2017. These three goals will set the direction of CFEC activities to achieve our vision of “healthy families living with vitality.”

Goal 1 – Positively impact on the lives of children, youth and families in the South Cariboo.

Goal 2 – Secure the resources and infrastructure needs to support children, youth and families.

Goal 3 – Advocate and mobilize community to support children, youth and families.

“CFEC is so thankful of the support of the community over the past six years,” says De Paoli.

“We look forward to your continuing support as we strive to help the every growing number of children, youth and families who are struggling to be strong and healthy while facing financial, physical and emotional challenges in their lives."
