Canim Lake Band Christmas craft fair slated

The Canim Lake Band is holding a Christmas craft fair on Nov. 27

The Canim Lake Band is holding a Christmas craft fair on Nov. 27 in its gymnasium from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Everyone is welcome to come, says Deanna Christopher, one of the co-ordinators.

"There will be tables of Christmas crafts, clothing, garage sale items, and more."

Noting the gymnasium holds quite a few tables, Christopher says she is hoping for a full house. Anyone interested in renting a table for $10 call her at 250-397-2227.

She hopes to have the spots booked by Nov. 24, but late registrations will be accepted if there is room.

Refreshments, such as pop and hotdogs, will be available at the canteen. The band is also holding a silent auction that day, Christopher says, adding they are looking for more items.

"We'll have a walk-in bingo then too, probably starting around 11 a.m. or so."

The money raised from the table rentals goes toward the band's annual Children's Christmas dinner and dance on Dec. 15. Christopher says she attended the party as a child and thinks it has been going on for more than 30 years.

"We have a dinner, dance and Santa will be there. The money from the craft fair goes towards having food catered and for the DJ. Everyone up to18 years old gets a $25 gift, too."

For more information or to book a table, call Christopher or Chantil Frank at 250-397-2227.
