Acknowledge your grief, honour your loved one

Participate in a Community Memorial Walk in Centennial Park

The 100 Mile Hospice Palliative Care Society is taking the opportunity to honour and memorialize loved ones in the spirit of BC Bereavement Day at Centennial Park from 6 to 7 p.m. on Aug. 25.

The community is invited to participate in a brief memorial ritual, which includes a welcoming and sharing your loved ones’ name.

Participants will receive a black memorial pin and a bereavement card. Then participants will take a gentle walk to Bridge Creek Falls, where there will be a reading, and sharing of grief names and writing of names on stones, which will be tossed into the water.

100 Mile Hospice is sponsoring this event, and Hospice volunteers and bereavement co-ordinator Sarah Smith will be available to support participants.

No fee or registration is required because the event sponsored by donations to 100 Mile Hospice.

People are asked to meet at the purple bridge in Centennial Park at 6 p.m.

For more information, call the 100 Mile Hospice office at 250-395-7680.
