“It was awesome. It’s the best five minutes so far that I’ve had,” says Chantel Lambert about the 100 Mile Lions Shopping Spree at Safeway that she won. “Very exciting.”

Lambert had a strategy going into it.

“We came Sunday, that’s my coach, and we took notes. He’s got a list and we knew what was where.”

There was one item they missed but they weren’t sure what it was.

“I think I’ll survive without it,” she says. “Support Safeway because they’re great for the community. They were awesome to let us to that here.”

Lions secretary Lydia Kendall says she thought it was wonderful.

“This is my sixth one … I worked at the Lioness Club but we are now debunked from 100 Mile House. So, of course, I’m a Lion so I brought it to the Lions Club and they thought it was a great idea.”

Kendall says Lambert did fabulously managing to get $585 worth of groceries in five minutes.

“I just hope everyone had a good time and Merry Christmas to all.”
