After an embarrassing defeat of the 100 Mile Free Press team in 2017, publisher Martina Dopf and her staff are back in the kitchen baking hopefully award-winning Christmas cookies this year.
The memories of the winning Nanaimo Bars by a competitor have not faded, neither did the “three point rumball” disaster.
“We’ve been baking tirelessly for the last two weeks and each and every one of us is looking for that award-winning recipe that will please the judge’s palates and bring home the rolling pin trophy this year”, says Dopf.
If you have the baking skills and are up to the challenge to bring down the Free Press team and put an end to their ludicrous claims of being master bakers, you are invited to enter the Bake Off Challenge by registering by Dec. 7, either in person at the Free Press office or by emailing mail@100milefreepress.net.
There is a $25 sign-up fee with all proceeds going to the Women’s Centre to support their Christmas Hamper program.
Judges are still to be determined but applications have come in from local politicians, fire chiefs and business owners.
Bribes are still being accepted.
The competition will take place at 2 p.m. on December 12 at the 100 Mile Free Press office.
