Well over 100 people attended Mountain Spruce Community Centre’s (MSCC) Easter Egg Hunt at the park, with all enjoying the hunt and going home with candy or other prizes. MSCC really appreciates those who came out and those who gave donations and/or became new members. MSCC is equally grateful for all the volunteers who helped, and for Deka’s Morgan Kerr who created and donated a bench to the park’s “marshmallow roasting” area.

At 1 p.m., Saturday, May 4, MSCC will host a “Microgreens & Sprouting” workshop with instructor Kristin Lehar, who will teach you how to grow them at home and will provide each participant with the equipment to use and take home. You only need to bring a wide-mouth canning jar. The workshop will conclude with the sharing of some snacks made with sprouts! Please RSVP first at e-mail mtnspruce@gmail.com to ensure a space and, after your space is confirmed, e-transfer $45 to the same e-mail. No refunds.

MSCC notes that this year’s Crib Tournament will be held on May 10 and is restricted to those who have played at least five times in the last year.

Condolences

Long-time residents will be sorry to learn that Jacques Walry passed away on April 6 at the age of 83. While a resident at Hathaway Lake, he and his wife Mireille were major community supporters at Sulphurous Lake for many many years before moving into 100 Mile House. Sincere sympathy is extended to Mireille, their family, and many friends.

A concession will be available.
