Thomas Merrill Roux

October 31, 2003

In great sadness, we announce the passing of Thomas Merrill (Tom) Roux. Tom was born in Powell River, B.C. April 27, 1949 and died at 100 Mile House, B.C. Oct. 31, 2003. He is survived by a loving family; wife, Linda; daughter Emmy (his pride and joy!); brother, Phil and sister-in-law Janet, nieces Becci and Natasha (and their families); brother Brian, niece Waneta, nephew Ryan (and their families); and stepmother Mariette (and her family) and dear friends. In 1970, Tom moved to the 108 Ranch and enjoyed a 33 year career in real estate. Also, for the past decade, he pursued a business venture in the Bella Coola Valley. He had many interests and served his community as a member of the Kinsmen Club and a coach and president of the Minor Hockey Association. Tom loved the great outdoors. Indeed, some of his best days were spent hunting and fishing in the area. We wish him good luck as he ventures into new territory! A celebration of Tom's life will be held on Sat., Nov. 8, 2003 at the 108 Community Hall at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the local SPCA or Cancer Society would be appreciated. The name's French, but the traditions are Irish - a wake will follow at the Farrier Pub!
