Nita Lillian FLICK (nee Burgess)

February 4, 1915-May 1, 2008

Nita Lillian Flick, age 93, passed away peacefully, in Yaletown House, with family members at her bedside at 5:15 PM, May 1st, 2008. Nita was an incredibly multi-talented woman with a career as a school teacher and private music teacher. She was also a pianist and consummate artist, specializing in acrylic and pastel. Her passion was teaching children, painting children and leading children’s choirs. Nita was a daughter, a sister, a wife, mother and grandmother, an aunt and sister-in-law and a friend. She, throughout her life, has remarkably touched many, many lives. She will be missed and also very well remembered. Nita is survived by: her daughter, Rev. Barbara L.S. MacLennan (nee Flick), of Vancouver;

her granddaughter, Alanna C. S. MacLennan, of Vancouver; and Nita’s niece, Sherry Anne Breden (nee Burgess) and her husband, Robert Michael Breden of Kamloops and grand niece and nephew, Katherine Anne Breden and Morgan Robert Breden with his wife Erin; Nita’s nephew, Gary Raymond Burgess and his wife Debra Diane Burgess, of Whitehorse and grand niece Jaclyn Rae Burgess and grand nephew Shawn Raymond Burgess. Previously deceased family members are: Frederick William Milward Flick, husband; John Raymond Burgess, brother; Gladys Irene Burgess (nee George) sister-in-law; John Fraser, foster brother; Leslie Rae Andersen (nee Burgess), niece; John Arthur Burgess, father; Lily Maud Burgess (nee Stirling), mother; Jacqueline Milward

Flick, Nita and Fred’s daughter (infant deceased). Memorial Service to be held: June 7th, 5:00pm, at Trinity United Church of Canada at 2nd and Larch, Vancouver BC. Minister officiating will be Rev. Louise Mangan. There will be a private reception held after the service. RSVP: revbmac.1942@gmail.com
