1922 - 2009

Wayne Casey, age 87 of 100 Mile House, BC, has passed away peacefully at home on Friday, July 10, 2009.

He will be sadly missed by all his family and those who knew him. He was one of the most gentle men around. Wayne was born in Shellbrook, Saskatchewan on July 3, 1922. He moved to 100 Mile House in 1956 where he lived for 53 years.

Wayne was married to his loving wife, Eunice Casey, for 55 years. He worked at many of the area mills in the Cariboo, as well as the 100 Mile Junior High School. He did many things to pass his time, from working around the yard to playing games with his family and friends.

Wayne is survived by his wife Eunice Casey, three sons: Murray Casey Sr., Evan Casey, Keith (Wendy) Casey; grandchildren: Murray Casey Jr., Floyd Casey; great-grandchildren: Danika Casey, Adriana Casey, Aidan Casey; one sister, Margaret Robb; and by many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

An open house in honour of Wayne will be held at the Creekside Seniors Activity Centre between 1pm and 4pm on August 8, 2009.

Friends are welcome to drop in for snacks and beverages.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society, or the Heart and Stroke Foundation in memory of Wayne Casey.
