Clarence Arthur FILE

December 16, 2006

June 24, 1936 - Dec. 16, 2006

Clarence passed away suddenly leaving behind his loving wife of 43 years, Holly; his children Leonard (Shelley) File; Heather File and Kitty File (Wayne Hall); his grandson Chad; granddaughter Bonnie and great granddaughter Rayne. He was predeceased by his mother and father but is also survived by his brother Jim (Ruth) File; sisters Sharon File and Cheryl Sturt and step-brother Bryan (Judy) Sturt. Clarence came to the Cariboo in 1962 to work at the Flying U Guest Ranch as a ranch hand. In 1963, he convinced his girlfriend to come and work at the ranch for a few months before she was to enlist in the Navy. After only a few months of serious courting, they were married in Enderby, B.C. on Sept. 7, 1963. In the years to follow, Clarence was a ranch hand, mill worker, faller/bucker and father. He could be abrasive and stubborn and more than a little accident-prone. He loved children and he had a heart of gold and would never turn down anyone that needed a hand. He was always looking to play a game of crib or a board game or just sit and read a good western novel. He will be missed by his friends and family, but he will never be forgotten. At this present time, there will not be a service, but there will be a celebration of life in June for those who would like to attend.
