It is with great sadness that the family of Clara Persson announce her passing on Friday Oct 12, 2007 in 100 Mile House hospital with her daughter Shirley by her side. She was predeceased by husband Stan in 1982, brothers Orin & Kenneth Odegard. She will be lovingly remembered by daughter, Shirley Carter(Herb) of 108 Mile Ranch, sister Florence Price of California, brothers Ronald(Ethel), Reginald(Myrtle), sisters-in-law Marj & Lily, and several nieces & nephews. Clara was born at home in Pennant, Saskatchewan on July 20, 1920. She received business school training in Swift Current, followed by many years of secretarial employment in Saskatchewan and BC. She moved to Penticton in 1953 where she met Stan Persson, and they married on Dec 20, 1955. She assisted with United Church Sunday School, Explorers & CGIT. She was also a docent at the South Okanagan Art Gallery. She lived in Penticton until 2003 when she moved to Carefree Manor Residence in 100 Mile House to be closer to her daughter. The family wishes to thank the many people involved in her care in this wonderful small town: staff at Carefree Manor, Debbie Lundeen, physicians at the Main Clinic, hospital staff. A graveside service will take place at Lakeview Cemetery in Penticton. Those who so desire may make memorial donations in memory of Clara to the Heart & Stroke Foundation(#203 - 635 Victoria St, Kamloops, BC, V2C 2133)
