With much sorrow we regret to announce the sudden passing of Barbara Ann Reichardt (Gaites), born September 17, 1939 in Vernon B.C. to Cyril Frederick and Wilma Irene Gaites. Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Robert (Bob) Reichardt, her sons Alan Reichardt (Donna) 100 Mile House, B.C., and Darren Reichardt (Kerry) of Spruce Grove, Alta. She also leaves behind her brother Frederick Dale Gaites (Millie) of Langley, B.C., siblings Robert Frederick Wensley Gaites of Fort Qu’appelle, Sask., Violet Louise Perrin of Burnaby and Lillian Vera Perrin of New Westminster, B.C.; Barbara’s five grandchildren Alexis Nadin, Trista Reichardt, Stephanie Reichardt, Brandon Reichardt and Danielle Reichardt, and her nieces and nephews. Barbara passed away November 10, 2007 peacefully in Royal Columbian Hospital, New Westminster. Barbara and Robert were married June 29, 1957 in Cloverdale, B.C. She moved to the Cariboo in 1972 with her husband and two sons, from Abbotsford, B.C. Barbara and Bob purchased the Top Notch Café, which they ran until 1976. After residing in Williams Lake, B.C. for a short time, they relocated to 108 Mile Ranch, B.C. Barbara worked as the receptionist/bookkeeper at Lake City Ford from 1979 until the mid 1980s. Barbara was a kind, caring and giving person and she will be sadly missed. No service by request. A gathering of family and friends will be held November 24, 2007 between 1:00 - 4:00pm at the family home in the 108 Mile Ranch. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or The M.S. Society of Canada.
