South Cariboo cadets earn awards at Ceremonial Review

The Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corps 2887 Rocky Mountain Rangers steadfastly faced the rain during their 46th Annual Ceremonial Review, Awards Presentation and Buffet on June 10.

Performing a variety of drills and procedures, the cadets showcased some of their work from the past year in front of an audience of parents and dignitaries at the Horse Lake Training Centre.

Cariboo-Chilcotin MLA Donna Barnett oversaw the ceremony as Reviewing Officer, while the event itself was sponsored by the Royal Canadian Legion Branches of 100 Mile House, Forest Grove and Clinton.

The event also celebrated a Change in Command. as Capt. D. Bachmier handed over his commanding officer post to Capt. Shawn Dulmage.

Cadets were then presented with a variety of awards for their work throughout the year.

Best Junior NCO – Master Cpl. J. Bryan

Best Senior NCO – Master Warrant Officer A. Faulkner

Best Attendance – Master Cpl. D. Beck

Personal Achievement Award – Lance Cpl. A. McIlravey

Fifth Year Bar – Warrant Officer A. Parker

Fourth Year Service – Master Warrant Officer A. Faulkner

CO Award of Merit – Cpt Shawn Dulmage

The Royal Canadian Legion Cadet Medal of Excellence – Master Warrant Officer A. Faulkner

Lord Strathcona Medal – Master Cpl. J. Bryan
