The Lac La Hache Community Club is pleased to report that another project has been completed. The new welcome to our community signs are up and looking awesome!

Many thanks to director Brittany for spearheading this project, Kori McLean who donated her time and skills to the community by designing these beautiful signs and to Schickworks Signs & Stitches of Williams Lake for the preparation and installation, great job all!

Coffeehouse

Bruce Wilcox of the Lac La Hache Church reports that the coffeehouse evening was another success with the next one being scheduled for fall. There was a lot of great local talent and those that attended the evening generously donated over $200 in voluntary donations which will be passed on to the Loaves and Fishes food bank outreach.

Horse clinic

Has anyone noticed the beautiful stables, buildings and pens located directly across the road from the garbage dump? This last weekend it was a very lively sight for sure. The B.C. Cutting Horse Association held a three-day workshop clinic. They are a group of dedicated people aiming to improve the quality of Cutting Horse competition and host many clinics and competitions throughout B.C. There were riders from all over B.C. and Alberta in attendance. The clinician was Greg Smith who is currently training in Texas.

Elementary school

The students at the elementary school have been kept busy by attending sports days locally. Some interesting outings are planned for the remainder of the school year. On June 22, a field trip is planned to the LLH Campsite for a picnic, the Parent Advisory Council (PAC) is sponsoring a field trip to the bowling alley and Centennial Park on June 27 and the year-end celebration will be a family BBQ at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, June 28. After dinner, the students will entertain with a few new songs and the evening will conclude with a slide show and presentation of the awards. The last day of school is June 29.

Family fun

The Greeny Lake VFD is hosting a family fun day on August 5. There will be a live auction, flea market, concession stand, 50/50 draw, bake sale and activities for the kids. Sounds like a great time, something for all to enjoy! If you have donations for the auction please contact Laurie Gisby at 250-396-7463 and for flea market items contact Doug Witty at 396-4192.

Reminder: Fathers Day Fishing Derby on June 17 and 18 is hosted by Kokanee Bay Resort.
