The first of the carriage events will take place May 19-22. The competition portion will be on May 20 starting at 9 a.m.
The other days will be used for training prospective carriage drivers and improving current driver’s skills. For more info call Ken or Dennis at 250-456-6050.
Bingo
The April 25 bingo attracted 15 players. The g-ball pot was not won and now stands at $444.
The next bingo will be held May 9 at SMAC. Play starts at 7 p.m.
Poker
The next tournament will be held Sunday, May 7 at Elaine’s Poker Palace. Play starts at 12 noon.
Election
As you probably know, there will be a Provincial Election on May 9. 70 Mile residents will vote at the 70 Mile Community Hall between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. Remember to bring identification with you.
VFD news
The next fire practice will be held May 16 at the fire hall on Willow Drive starting at 7:00 p.m. New members are encouraged to attend.
Natural gas expansion
The Thompson-Nicola Regional District recently mailed survey letters to residents on the desire to bring natural gas to 70 Mile House. Please complete the survey and return as soon as possible.
SMAC news
There will be a general meeting at SMAC on May 10 at 10 a.m. at the centre.
