Western Week parade going ahead

Several floats will be rolling down Birch Avenue on May 21

The Western Week Parade will be coming through Birch Avenue on Saturday (May 2)1 at 10 a.m.

The event planning was taken over by Cheralyn Gent and Kristy Anderson who organized last year's Santa Claus Parade.

Among those who are already confirmed to have floats are Save-On-Foods, 100 Mile House Fire Rescue, Canim Lake and Lone Butte 4H clubs, CaribooRadio.com, Superman Moving and Storage, and the District of 100 Mile.

So far, there are 12 floats scheduled to participate in the parade. The window for entries closed at 8 p.m. on May 18.

Some stores on Birch Avenue, such as The Outlaw and Home Inspirations, will be dressing up for the event.

Prizes will be awarded for the best float.
