Revelstoke Grizzlies triumph over 100 Mile House Wranglers on home ice

The Wranglers lost 5-1 in back to back games

The 100 Mile House Wranglers battled hard but were dominated by the Revelstoke Grizzlies on home ice last weekend.

The Wranglers lost to the Grizzlies 5-1 both Friday and Saturday night in two aggressive and hard-hitting games. The Wranglers are currently fourth in their division with seven wins under their belt and 16 losses.

On Friday the game started out promisingly with Revelstoke only scoring one goal and slightly outshooting the Wranglers. In the second period, however, the Wrangler’s defenses seemingly collapsed due to a mix of penalties and intense pressure on the net with the Grizzlies scoring four goals by the period’s end.

Wrangler Kelton Shinde kept the Wranglers from being shut out with a goal of his own in the second period. However, the Wranglers proved unable to rally in the third period with no goals being scored by either side.

The next night the Wranglers came at the Grizzlies with something to prove playing a more aggressive game against the Grizzlies that netted them several penalties in the first period while the Grizzlies scored their first goal of the night. In the second period, Ethan Davey put the Wranglers on the board only for the Grizzlies to answer with a goal of their own.

Going into the third period the Wranglers led the Grizzlies in shots on net, ultimately outshooting them 42 to 22. Unfortunately, the aggressive style of play caught up to the Wranglers with the Grizzlies scoring three goals, two of them on power plays.

The Wranglers return to home ice on Saturday, Dec. 16 to take on the Summerland Steam after facing the Sicamous Eagles on the Road on Friday, Dec. 16. Their last game of the year is an away game against the Chase Heat on Thursday, Dec. 21.
