The 28th Annual Pud Griffin women's golf tournament tees off July 9-10 at the 108 Golf Resort, with up to 90 local and visiting golfers expected to participate.

The two-day event features 18 holes of golf each day in a two-person, best-ball format.

Cost is $100 per person and that includes golf games, an appy hour on Friday night, Saturday night banquet, and a chance to win prizes.

Tournament spokesperson Clara Koehn says this year's event will feature a "Gilligan's Island" theme.

"I wonder how many Mrs. Howells and Gingers will be show up," she says, adding that normally most people come to the banquet dressed in theme.

Another highlight of the weekend will be a chance to win $10,000 on two hole-in-one sponsored holes.

Registration deadline for the event, hosted by the 108 Ladies Golf Club, is tonight (July 6) but late entries will be accepted by calling Koehn at 250-791-6587.
