Peewee Reps struggle in season opener

The Sunrise Ford Mustangs Tier 3 Peewee Reps hosted their first game of the season on Oct. 14

The Sunrise Ford Mustangs Tier 3 Peewee Reps hosted their first game of the season on Oct. 14 at the South Cariboo Rec. Centre, coming up short, 22-2 against the visiting Williams Lake Tier 3 squad.

The Mustangs, heavy with first year players, were no match for Williams Lake who already had 11 games, including one tournament, under their belts.

Mustangs captain, Brandon Balbirnie scored his team's first goal early in the second period and in the final minute, Tyler Yelich put a rebound

into the net with assists from Reid Davidson and Trevor Moore.

The game was also a testing ground for goalies, Curtis Craig-Green, Mitchell Taylor, and Aidan Harding who were all vying for two available spots on the final team roster.
