The 100 Mile House & District Outriders Club hosted its second gymkhana of the 2011 season July 24 at the Outriders grounds in 100 Mile House.
Clouds parted and rain let up for the day to provide temperatures of up to 27 C.
Only 25 competitors showed up for the event, and gymkhana co-ordinator Jen Szigety says she expects it to become a trend, blaming it on the wet summer.
"With the weather being so bad and people trying to get their hay in when they can, I think it is going to be hard for some of the regulars to make it."
Competitors collect points for season-end awards, which will be handed out on Sept. 25, the last gymkhana of 2011.
High-point winners in junior, intermediate, senior and Jack Benny divisions will take home saddles and second-place winners will be awarded belt buckles. Third-place winners will receive show halters.
In the peewee division, first place will earn a belt buckle; second place, a horse blanket; and third place, a show halter.
Overall winners at the July gymkhana in the peewee division were Avery McBride in first place and Karli-Rae Ross in second place.
The junior winner was Amy Hume, with Brianna Billy in second place, and Raven Gentry was the overall winner in the intermediate division, followed by Callie Hume in second place.
Senior overall winner was Jenny Hume and second place went was Jen Szigety.
In the Jack Benny division, it was Dennis Gunn took first place, and Sandra Mulvahill was second.
