The annual Cariboo Old Cats Hockey Tournament comes to the South Cariboo Rec. Centre from Jan. 21-23 with 12 teams registered to compete in the non-contact event.
Tourney co-ordinator John Taylor says he is expecting an action-packed weekend full of skillful hockey and great all-around entertainment.
“It’s usually a lot of fun and we have some pretty good hockey players coming.”
The tournament roster will include teams from Williams Lake, Clinton, Penticton, Alder-grove, Clearwater, Cabin Lake and seven teams from 100 Mile.
There are age divisions for 35 and over, and 45 and over.
There will be plenty of room in the stands for spectators and the Players Lounge will be open for those 19 years and older.
On Friday night, games start at
6 p.m. with the Old Cats versus Cowboys and Indians from Cabin Lake. The final game of the evening will wrap up at 9:45.
Teams are back on the ice on Saturday at 8 a.m. and games will run non-stop until 7:45 p.m.
Sunday’s finals begin at 7 a.m. with the 45-plus championship game to be played from 12:20-1:25 p.m. and the 35-plus championship game scheduled for 1:40-2:45 p.m.
