Langley Midget Ones' goalie saw a lot pressure and brisk action during his game against 100 Mile Pharmasave at the South Cariboo Rec. Centre on Feb. 18.

The Midget House Tournament, hosted by the 100 Mile & District Minor Hockey Association, drew eight teams for a weekend of hockey action at the South Cariboo Rec. Centre (SCRC).

The tournament ran Feb. 17-19, with Langley Midget Ones placing first overall after downing Williams Lake Blazers, 8-2 in Sunday's final. Blazers potted two first-period goals but remained scoreless for the rest of the game, while Langley maintained a steady scoring pace throughout the game.

A closely contested third-place final between 100 Mile Pharmasave and Mackenzie ended in a 3-2 victory for the visitors. Pharmasave's Josh Campbell opened the scoring early in the first period and Mackenzie answered with a pair.

The game went scoreless through the second period and Mackenzie was the first team to find the back of the net in the third. Michael Montgomery lit up the goal light for Pharmasave midway through the period, but the team couldn't muster another goal to even the score.

According to Denise Balbirnie from the 100 Mile hockey club, several of the games became quite chippy, but despite the atmosphere, Pharmasave managed to remain penalty free in their final game.

The Vernon Corbett Cowboys played to a fifth-place result, while 100 Mile Home Hardware was sixth.

In the battle for seventh place, the Lac la Hache Hornets and Aldergrove Bruins ended regulation time in a 4-4 draw, but Aldergrove won the game in a shoot-out.

Hockey action regularly scheduled to take place at the SCRC was moved to the Lac la Hache Rolf Zeis Memorial Arena for the weekend.

The Novice 100 Mile Transformers Collision went down 9-1 to a visiting team from Clearwater, and Central RV Ramblers were also unsuccessful in their match with Clearwater.

Atom/Peewee Female Ainsworth Timber Chix were the 7-2 victors in a game with the Free Press Sharp Shooters, but Free Press later turned their luck around for a 10-5 win over Primal Electric Shockers.

A Novice tournament in Lillooet saw the Central GM Avalanche pick up two wins against a couple of losses, but final results were not available at press time.
