Jossinet scored twice and was named player of the game for North Okanagan as they defeated the 100 Mile House Wranglers 5-3 in Kootenay International Junior Hockey League action Friday at Armstrong’s Nor-Val Sports Centre.
The win moved the Knights (8-16-1-3) to within seven points of the fourth place Kelowna Chiefs in the Okanagan Division. The Chiefs (12-12-1-2) lost 7-4 in Revelstoke Friday.
The Knights will host Kelowna twice before the Christmas break.
Main opened the scoring at 7:25 with a powerplay goal, his eighth of the year, which resulted in the ice being littered with teddy bears and stuffies thrown by the fans for charity at the Knights’ annual game.
Jett Saharchuk upped the lead to 2-0 three minutes into the second period with his second of the season.
The Wranglers battled back to tie the game before Jossinet scored with four minutes left to give the Knights a 3-2 lead heading into the final period.
100 Mile House would tie the game, with a second powerplay marker, five minutes into the third, setting the stage for Jossinet to score his fifth, the game-winner, at 9:23.
Jaden Hay put away the two points for the Knights with an empty net goal with 54 seconds remaining. Hay, Main and Tyler Olsen lead the Knights with eight goals each. Zach Willms made 31 saves to pick up his eighth win of the season for the Knights. Hayden Lyons made 37 saves for the Wranglers,
The teams split their two regular season meetings. 100 Mile beat the Knights 10-3 earlier this season in the South Cariboo.
The Wranglers (15-10-3-0) are third in the Doug Birks Division, four points behind the front-running Chase Heat and three back of Revelstoke.
