The 100 Mile House & District Minor Hockey Association had its annual general meeting and elections on April 7, and although the meeting was well attended, few of the executive positions were filled.

Darrell Blades remains in the position of president after having already served 1.5 terms.

Still vacant are the positions of first and second vice-president, secretary, treasurer, director of female hockey and director of parents' auxiliary.

Directors at large are Mike McNeil, Kersti Foote and Ed Ray.

"We didn't do very well," says Blades. "People are being shy of commitments."

He adds most of the positions were left vacant by people who were nearing the end of their involvement with minor hockey. Since the AGM, however, he has had a good response from newcomers.

The association has another meeting planned for this week.

"I don't think it will be a problem filling the majority of the positions at that time, but there will be a number of new people on the executive."

Blades says the AGM was one month earlier than normal this year, and it may have thrown people off.

"We have some keen candidates and, hopefully, after the meeting, we will be well on the way to a successful 2011/12 season.
