The 100 Mile & District Outriders Club wound up its gymkhana season on Aug. 25 with a good turnout of competitors for the last of the four competitions this summer.
Gymkhanas were held in May, June, July and August and the competitors earned five, four, three, two and one points for first-, second-, third-, fourth- and fifth-place finishes in each of the events during the
season.
These points not only determined who finished on top of the individual gymkhanas, but the total points gained throughout the season also determined the year-end champions in each category.

After the awards were handed out, this year's gymkhana organizer Dawnna Robertson told everyone she was not going to be able to run the gymkhanas next season because she is working full-time and part-time jobs.
Robertson added she is also competing in reining and is on the British Columbia Barrel Racing Association circuit.
Noting these activities would use up most of her spare time, Robertson said she would still help on the days of the gymkhanas, but other people have to step up to do the organizing and look for sponsorships to keep the events running next year.
"The call is out for more help, or it may be dropped. I just don't have the time to do it on my own; I'll do what I can, but I just don't have time to go knocking on doors for sponsorship."
