Grads meet teachers at centre ice

PSO teachers and the grad class of 2012 face off at the South Cariboo Rec. Centre for their annual Grad versus Teachers Hockey Game

The teachers and the grad class of 2012 at Peter Skene Ogden Secondary School face off at the South Cariboo Rec. Centre for their annual Grad versus Teachers Hockey Game, Feb. 16 at 7 p.m.

Expect a pile of laughs at this major fundraiser for dry grad celebrations, as both teams try to dupe the referees in their lawless scramble for goals.

Zany costumes add to the fun, as will a paper airplane toss with the top prize of tickets for two to a Vancouver Canucks hockey game.

The $5 admission price to Grad versus Teachers includes one sheet of paper for making an airplane and additional sheets will be available for $2. Participants will pull out their best designs for the mass toss from the stands.

The draw for winners of the dry grad raffle will also be made during the game. Prizes include Canucks tickets and two nights hotel accommodation, donated by Pharmasave. Horton Ventures has donated an iPad 2 and Home Hardware has come up with a barbecue. A Ducks Unlimited print is also up for the winning.

Raffle tickets are $4 and available from grads and at Home Hardware and Horton Ventures.

Hockey game co-ordinator Tim Giesbrecht says the raffle and the game are two of the top fundraisers for dry grad and it's important they get a good response.

Children 10 and under will be admitted free of charge.
