The skies cleared just in time in the afternoon of Aug. 17 for the close to 40 golfers hitting the links at the Marmot Ridge Golf Course in 100 Mile House for the annual Legion Golf Tournament.

Groups of men and women participated in the nine-hole round. Any extra proceeds from the event went to local charities.

The low-gross title in the ladies division went to Judy Scarrow who shot a 41. Ed Ney and Met Boyson tied for the men's low-gross bragging rights with 40.

Ladies and men's longest drives winners were Val Whittington and Boyson.

Whittington also won closest to the pin (KP), while Lenny Emile had the KP for the men.

Highest scores – or “most honest” – went to Brenda Curll in the ladies, with Josh Hall, Willie Orango and Bruce Madu for the honours on the men's side.
