Rowing history: Bergen started rowing in 2005.

He captured gold captured gold at the 2008 World Championship in the Coxed pair with James Dunaway and cox Mark Laidlaw.

In the 2009 World Championship in Poland, he was a member of the silver-medallists men’s eight crew.

He won a bronze in men’s eight during the World Championship at Lake Bled in Slovenia in 2011.

In his first Olympics, Bergen had the bow seat when the Canadian men’s eight won the silver medal at Eaton Dorney at the 2012 London Summer Olympics.
