Blaire Fawcett from Chilliwack obviously enjoyed sitting behind the steering wheel of Dave Biddlecombe's mud dragster

The engines roared, the tires spun, and the mud and dirt flew for the hundreds of spectators at Scotty's Mud Drags at 105 Mile on Aug. 31-Sept. 1.

Now in its 10th year at the site, the annual event is part of the North West Mud Racing Association (NWMRA) circuit and drew 45 drivers from around the province to the racing grounds located off Lilypad Lake Road about 10 kilometres north of 100 Mile House.

Kamloops resident Dave Biddlecombe, a racer and past president of the NWMRA, has been with the association for more than a decade. He applauds the work done by the promoters – Scotty and Liesbeth Lang – and the volunteers.

Biddlecombe says the condition of the track, the preparation and the mud made last weekend's races, in his opinion, the “best races 100 Mile House has ever seen.”

“There were no surprises. Everything looked like it was suppose to. We weren't chasing our tail trying to get anything [ready].”
