More than a dozen local runners were covered in psychedelic colours as they pounded the pavement in Vancouver for charity.

The local running group – “Cariboo Girls – Just out for a Rip” – raised $1,200 for KidSportBC at the “5k Vancouver Color Run,” at the Pacific National Exhibition grounds on Sept. 13.

Color Runs are five-kilometre races held around the world that raise money for local causes. Participants are sprayed with colourful powders at stations throughout the run.

The 100 Mile House participants in Vancouver were Kailey Lund, Dayna Meger, Jean Meger, Alayna Buurmeester, Diana Buurmeester, Pam Easton, Karlie Easton, Kathrin Ricketts, Wesley Silverton, Katelyn Cleave, Kelsey Cleave, Lori Cleave, Julie Pettigrew, Ginna Sanford, Kyle Sanford and Kaleigh Bullerwell.

KidSport BC is a non-profit organization that enables children and youth to participate in a sport of their choice through confidential financial assistance.
