A group of local runners got up and down and dirty at the Mudd, Sweat & Tears obstacle course race in Kelowna, May 9.

The hardcore 8-kilometre event was held at Crystal Mountain Resort in West Kelowna. The obstacles included mud wall slides and heavy concrete blocks dangling on chains.

The local group, dubbed “Cariboo Peeps Just Out For A Rip”, raised over $900 towards the BC Professional Firefighters Association's Burn Fund.

Cariboo Peeps raised $245 at the 3rd Annual Cariboo Spring 10-km Run, Relay or Walk Around the Lakes on May 3. Funds from the local event, $700 total, in 108 Mile Ranch went to the 100 Mile District Hospice Palliative Care Society.
