Wranglers player Brevin Gervais is recovering well after a lengthy neurosurgery necessitated by a brain hemorrhage, according to head coach Dale Hladun.

"On Sunday night, they took out the ventilator tubes and they officially said he's in stable condition. He's been awake, hasn't spoken yet. He's just a little restless and that, but definitely getting a lot better ... that's real good. It's good to hear that he's in stable condition"

The positive news was very welcome according to Hladun who received the news while watching the Superbowl with the team.

"I think that news was inspiring to the kids. They do stay in touch with the family, boys been down there visiting off and on. They're very connected into what's going on. When I got that, we were together as a group watching the Superbowl game and that's when his mom texted that. So when I read it out loud it was as big a cheer as if someone scored a touchdown. The kids were all excited. That was pretty big news for all our guys."

Hladun says they would like to do something special for Brevin, so they'll be asking fans to sign a quilt during an upcoming home game.
